I hardly check in on the site anymore . . . usually if I have a problem with my K6-2+. She is still going strong and is well loaded it up with all the old software that I can not seem to get to run on Windows 7 or Windows 10. Let me know if you get yours fired up.

Not very active but still here. I figure it's worth keeping around for the info in all of the old threads even if there's little new activity. Might help someone out.
I think the motherboard for my K6-III+ needs to be recapped, it's been dead for a while. I'll have to take another look at it some day.

Well, thanks for keeping it going. I have a K6III 400 I need to get up and going soon. I will be here for questions and results when done.

Skalabala, Thanks for posting your success links. Really like the modified heat sink . . . something that has always been limiting on my board. You inspired me to go fire it up and tweak with it some more . . . and success found with some additional hardware (these were just for fun) and software tweaks (KernelEX 4.5.2 and Firefox/Opera) I can once again surf the internet again . . . albeit probably not safely.
Keep em running

Skalabala,
Can you tell me here the reasoning behind the very strange results obtained on 3dmark2000 that are claimed to be superior to fx ones?
According to the author of the discussion you linked, a geforce 3ti card should be faster than a fx5900...
Of course it is not, even a fx5700 destroyed it on 3dmark2001 (and real life), but he won't give me explanations.
Is it a glitch of 3dmark2000 and socket7?
If it is the case, I totally fail to see the utility of the whole discussion and the use of such a benchmark.
Maybe DonPedro could have a word or two.

There is still so much to learn to get more performance!
There is a certain setup with ATI card that is faster than anything I have ever seen on K6 but for the life of me I can not remember it

The card was a 9250, it was super unstable but super fast. Think I used Win2000 and an oldish driver. I want to try it on a more stable board.
It will be awesome if this could be figured out because then we can make use of the fast motherboards like Aladdin 7 and MVP4 by using ATI 9250 PCI cards.

Yes!! It’s very important all these old topics stay live for google searches! :p totally agree!!Nohr wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2017 2:15 pm Not very active but still here. I’m doing a k6 build right now and groups like these are invaluable!
