How to set Write Allocate properly with 512MB memory Win2000

Post by mitchsc »

Hi, K6 fans. Got 512MB sdram working stably. But memory scores are lower than with 128MB until I use K6Speed to set write allocate properly. Would like to set a Win2000 system up so that write allocate and software cpu multiplier are set on boot without manual intervention. How can this be done?
I was using SysID by morf for this when running 128MB sdram. Worked well with 128 Sdram but the program does not work with my current memory setup. Right now I manually use K6speed to set Write Allocate and Multiplier but would like automatic setting better. Tried Uart's dos utilities for this but they do not work with Win2000. Uart's work fine in Win98.

System:FIC VA503+ K6-2+450, two 256MB generic sdram Cas3 with Seitec chips that works with either one or both chips in either sdram slot, Voodoo 3-2000, Maxtor Diamond Max 60 family drive, Win2000SP1, Via 4 in 1 425, Via Busmaster driver ver 3011

Memory scores tested with Passmark Performance Test 3.2 in Win2000 and Wintune97 in Win98.
Thanks
