As long as he doens't mind going thru cpu's...

Unlike our diehard K6III's, them tbirds are fragile babies. Hopefully you will only need to replace one or two before you get it working without cracking one...

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Seriously, Abit's DDR looks good, and there are some other options. I would NOT go for MSI's board, seeing they had so many issues when they were first released (they may be fixed now, but consumers should not reward them for using us as betatesters...)

Hehe...I just happen to think that a 1.4GHz tbird might just be a bit more powerful than my current K6-2 500. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> Thanks for the info <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

The Shuttle AK31 rev. 2 is getting lots of raves, might be one to consider lots of features low price.

K6-2?

Post by shadow »

Looks like someone needs to taste the flavour of a K6-3+ <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

The 2's dont even compare to the 3+'s.
Ahh yes, I am one of the lucky chosen few to experience it before eventually moving onto Athlon territory....but not yet....not for awhile...not til I totally enjoy this 3+ taste in my mouth

if you didn't already pick up the abit board, consider the just released ECS board with the sis735 chipset. i ordered one last week. it's half the price of the abit board and quicker, but with fewer o/c options. it's also more stable. i'm so glad to not have to deal with VIA this time around
