HELP!!! Enable Speculative Write Ordering K6-2+ WinXP Pro

Post by Johnny7772003 »

I can not Enable Speculative Write Ordering on my computer. I have a Compaq 5190, I replaced my
K6-2/400 with a K6-2+/450. I'm operating with WinXP pro. The MBoard, for all intensive purposes, is MFGR locked. In WinXP, basically, the Autoexe and configsys no longer excists. So MxK6opt doesn't work. Powertweak2 does work; however, it locks my system up when I game. On or off, it locks my system up when I game. My K6-2+ core is set to 2.0v and 443MHz. I do NOT want to add a Dos partition if I can avoid it.
Any ideas or suggestions?
When replying assume I know Zero. Just to be on the safe side.
Thank you,
Johnny

Re: speculative write ordering

I wouldn't worry about enabling speculative write ordering. Enabling it has never produced any performance gain in any of my systems.

But if you want to play with it, you can download k6speed from the downloads link at this site. It works with XP.

Hello,
Powertweak will enable all functions as well. It made my CPU at 100% all the time, though. Here are some great files to enable the functions at start up. Regards,
