Where is cacheonw.exe? Is it really useful?

Post by His Royal Majesty King V »

All,

Had an inquiry about the MSI 5169 motherboard. I note that in my compatibility list, it says that cacheonw.exe is needed.

However, as with almost all the info on that list, it's secondhand info.

I've gotten someone who's written to me asking about the availability of cacheonw.exe

But, I also came across a thread in these forums that mentions that cacheonw.exe only affects the L1 cache.

So, what's the deal? Is this program really needed? Is there something else that would accomplish the same thing?

Thanks! I guess I'm spoiled because I never had to use the various utilites to make the K6-plus processors work for me.
