What is the USD value of the types of + you would be interested in? over here, K6-3+400 ATZ = 36 + Shipping (new); K6-3+450ACZ = 49 + Shipping (new). Those prices ok? These things are small enough, that it is fairly easy to bulletproof them and send them anywhere fairly cheap.

It has been my experience, that if sent through the post office, as opposed to other methods, (Fedex, UPS, etc.), they usually slip by duty free.

That's true if you mark it as used on the customs slip. I think gift works as well.

Hey Tazwegion, I purchased 2 new K6-III+ 400ATZ CPUs for AUD$120 (including postage) from those US ebay "Buy it now" offers that keep appearing - Took only 1 week to get here too. It was an awesome upgrade from the K6-2 550 and K6-2 500's - very stable at 600 and 550 and the L2 cache makes all the difference!!!

And yes, the AUD$120 slips under the custom's duty radar.

p.s. I sold my 550 for AUD$25 and my 500 for AUD$18 - so total upgrade cost was 120-25-18=77/2 = AUD$38.50 per PC I got :D

$60.00 AUD a piece (including postage)? not bad... but bang for buck, I can now get PIII-800 system boxes (less ram & HDD) for $50.00+ :(

I've got this notion that my collection of SS7's will serve the remainder of their 'tour of duty' in relatives internet PC's, and the kid's Retro Gaming system ;)

However... if I hang in there, I may get lucky and come across a K6III+ floating around eBay (AU), like the nVidia GeForce2 MX400 I just won the bid for @ $32.00 :banana

Yeah, I guess my upgrade was worth it because I would of had to replace my AT cases, keyboards etc so thats why I took the plunge....

...and I guess a little part of me was saying "I want the fastest AT retro-machines ever made" :D

Turns out they perform better then my PIII-500 does 8)

p.s. They are my kid's machines as well :P , but you will often find me playing retro-games on them myself!
