Problem using K6-3+ Battlefield 2 Dedicated Server

Post by Guest »

Hi again everyone, :D

OK, now I know some of you are probably saying "What were you thinking by trying to start a dedicated BF2 server with that processor!!!!" but please read on....

I can actually start a stable dedicated server using a PII-333, but it's too slow, so I tried it on both my AMD K6-III+ 550/600's but it crashes to desktop as soon as it starts to load

Why does the Intel PII work but the K6-III doesnt???

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get it going because I am sure it will cope OK 8)

p.s. I used the same amount of RAM on all machines being 324Mb, but it appears 256 is OK as well.

Is your K6-III+ system known to be stable at your selected speed (550/600MHz)? What processor are you working with? System specs?
EP-MVP3G2 Rev 1.0 (8/6/01 BIOS) -- K6-2+ 550ACZ @ 618MHz (103MHz FSB) 640MB PC100

EP-MVP3G5 Rev1.4 (8/6/01 BIOS) -- K6III+ 500ANZ @ various MHz
