Fine; but I did an edit after thinking about it. You were too fast for me. "Q" Will it make a significant difference in results?

It might...see the change log.

Memtest86+ started using the Memtest86 v3.2 core at v1.40...

Hynix Passes MemTest 86 @ 133 MHz

Post by Jim »

Hynix has now passed MemTest86+ v1.65 running @ 2/2/2/6 timings @ 133 MHz on an "A OPEN MX6B EZ" slot 1 board w/ a P3 533 @ 4 x 133 MHz. The same sticks failed @ 124 MHz running on my FIC VA_503+ w/ a K6-2+ 550 @ 4.5 x 124 MHz. For those tests I tried varying the processor voltage and found that as the voltage went up, the number of errors went down.

My conclusion is that my FIC board is in the early stages of the "Capacitor Problem" Its caps are not fully "Domed"; but nor are they perfectly flat the way they should be. Instead they have in some cases 4 small domes surrounding the central reinforcing X stamping.

Anyone else having problems getting their RAM to pass MemTest 86 + should in my opinion try benching it in a compatable newer board to get a check on whether the problem is their board or their RAM.

I think one of my ASUS P5A-Bs has good caps and I will test the Hynix in that when I have finished doing the other testing. I also have a DFI or two w/ good caps; but because they only go up to 100 MHz by way of jumpers, they are of no use for this purpose.
