DonPedro, I finally got around to recovering my corrupted P5A 1.06. I used a working spare AX59Pro to hotflash the BIOS chip using Uniflash. It worked successfully.
I tested the 1010 BIOS with my K6-3+ 400ATZ. It still ran slow compared to a regular desktop K6-3 450AHX. I ran Cachecheck quickly but didn't have time to run anything else. Both CPU's were tested at 450Mhz.

K6-3+ 400ATZ @450
READ: 28ns
WRITE: 100ns

K6-3 450AHX @450
READ: 28ns
WRITE: 70ns

Very strange how the write performance suffers with the K6-3+. I tried reflashing to the 1006 BIOS but got the ESCD error message and had to hotflash it a second time. I recall my P5A had BIOS 1007A on it when it was new, perhaps it doesn't like any BIOS version older than 1007A.
BTW, the 2.0volt setting doesn't work on this board. I had to use 2.1volt with the K6-3+.

Slow yes, but that is before you get to work w/ WPCredit on it. rls48J did it that way; and he got his working ok.

Thanks for the tip Jim. I'm going to try Wpcredit with both CPU's and see if I can figure out what is happening.

As there was no further message here I decided to take a look. I have booted up a K6-2+/450ACZM cpu in the P5A v1.06 at 2.1v. Bios revision is the 1011.005

Running at 550MHz with 256mb of hynix cl2 ram at 2-2-2-6 Everest gives the following

Memory read 310
Memory write 61
Memory latency 220

Superpi 256k with this write score gives the impressive score of 177s which is just about 2x longer than on the P5A rev1.04 board.

Looks like the memory write is at half speed to normal.

Took a look at WPCREDIT and could see no difference between the settings for the K6plus cpu and a normal K6-III and that includes all the reserved settings as seen apart from 2 or 3 and changing those does not seem to do anything.

K, Peter contacted rls48j and it seems that he did not get it working up to par, though he did get some improvement. Be it also noted that he did not flash his bios to 1011, instead he used some earlier version. If you hunt around the site enough you will find various old posts dealing w/ this problem. Punkrawker 82 had a Rev 105 that he had enormous difficulty getting to run over 475Mhz, but he did finally succeed. My memory on all this is vague, but I seem to recall running across something about losing 1/2 the cache in some circumstances.
