My mvp3g2 works very well with k6-2 450,k6-2 500 & k6-3 400, but it seems
not compatible with k6-2+ . Before using k6-2+ I upgrade the bios from vp3c0c21 to vp3c1806 successfully.( with Award flash tool 8.59e I typed this:A:\awd859e.exe vp3c1806.bin /cd/cc/cp ,without these switches the result is the same), after that I checked jumpers, cleared cmos manually then I tried again . I have three k6-2+ 550 (all made in Malaysia ) , they all works fine on my jetway 531cf .
Why this board can't handle k6-2+ ? I think maybe this is the point:bios chip( Winbond w29c020-12 ) , any ideas or suggestions?
Help ! Why my mvp3g2 can't handle k6-2+550 ?

Strange, either BIOS version should have worked with the K6-2+. What exactly is the machine doing? Did the flash work successfully?
I prefer to use Uniflash to flash my boards instead of Awdflash. You could try reflashing the board with Uniflash. Uniflash can also clear CMOS through software, pretty handy when you don't want to open the case or if you need to short tiny solderpoints like on a P5A.
You can download it from here:

What is the nature for the failure?
If you jumper the machine for 400, 450, or 500 MHz, does the thing boot?
What "fixes" are in the new BIOS?

I have an EP-MVP3G-M which is essentially the same board as the EP-MVP3G-2 but has an ATA33 controller rather than ATA66. The two motherboards run with the same bioses.
My board is running with a K6-III+/500 with no problems and it fires up with a K6-2+/550 again with no problems. In fact the K6-2+ fires up at 550 @ 1.75V. The bios recognises the cpu as a K6-2+. The K6-III+ is recognised as a K6-III. My bios is vp3c0412.
Have you tried running your board with more than 512Mb of ram? Mine will not boot properly with more than 512Mb. See my post 'Problem with EP-MVP3G-M'

Posting a little late..
My MVP3G2 is running the same BIOS (vp3c1806.bin) with a K6-2+ 550MHz and 640MB RAM. No problems.
I use awdflash in conjunction with a simple batch file that includes all my switches (keeps me from keyboard errors). So far, it has worked like a charm!
Also, I'm using awdflash v8.54b to flash these old BIOSes.
