I don't think that something is wrong with your system setup, so reinstalling windows would be the last thing I would consider to do.

I consider the problem to be one with the modem itself. I would try to get help from the manufacturer what could be wrong or in case you got the modem from the company you subscribed your internet access I would call their help line.

Make sure no other USB items are on the same USB Controller.

If possible, make sure the USB does not share an IRQ with any other device.

If the modem has an Ethernet connection, use it.

but before with pcchips boards I could go to internet very good..can it be because of the oc?or any setting in the bios?I didn't want to put the usb 2.0 card again because it sucks all the power of the pc in games :S without it I can have 40fps in ut..with it not even 20.
not other devices are pluged..how can I see that IRQ thing?

The FIC is a little flakey when it cones to USB, is that a DSL modem? If so get a cheap network card and hook to the network connection on the modem, it is more stable. They only recomend using USB as a last resort for modem connections.

Well I think this may be a usb latency thingy..I put up the latency and now I can use my pen good..without breaking the pc..but the conection fails sometimes..I have instaled a program called via pci latency something but I think that doesn't do anything lol
