Searching for an Epox MVP3G5
Searching for an Epox MVP3G5
I'm looking for an Epox MVP3G5, I think the only mobo with 2mb chache onboard and the most stable anyway.
Does anyone of you guys got one?
For european K6'ers only...

RE: Searching for an Epox MVP3G5
I'm not European, and I don't have any Epox boards; but I do have 3 DFI 2Meg cache boards. So Epox is not the only one, though it may very well be the most stable.

RE: Searching for an Epox MVP3G5
I have a DFI K6XV3+/66 with 1meg on board.
Yes you are right, the MVP3G5 is not the only 2meg mobo.
But I want to try an Epox now, if I can find one somewhere...

hmmm ...
stedman, it had 2mb of cache, but it is still not worth the 30 euros (for me)!
some other info - i found an ali 5 board with 1mb of cache - is it normal? its a noname company called freetech, they have some mvp3 and mvp4 boards with 2mb cache as well ...
have a look on the p5f103 - as well as on the p5f113. mamba, if you are still looking for a board, maybe this will do it also? ... but you have to find one

For some people Tony I guess it is. What people do, is decide which is the BEST of whatever it is that they want, then pay whatever it takes to get it. You would be shocked if you knew what I had to pay to get a Gigabyte GA-6VA7+ for my SPZ project.

@mamba
The K6-2+ most likely will do 617 (112x5.5) on the Epox board or (103x6). I have had a K6-III+ at these speeds on my board with the onboard cache enabled. It is a close call with regards to which is the better at the speeds you have stated, but the K6-2+ will draw a lot less power and run cooler. if it was me I would go for the K6-2+ and have some fun.

@ Stedman : Am quite curious as to how you got those phenominal results w/ a K6-2+ UNTWEAKED!! It is something like KGB getting the results he gets with a plain K6-2; as high as Everest 413 MR. Simply amazing! 190 Everest MW from a K6-2+ untweaked is also very high. Would like any details you care to share. Might try doning that on SP2 myself.

Jim
I will repeat the bench as it was quite a long time ago when I tried it. They do look very high now that you mention it. However I am pretty sure it would be without the wpcredit tweaks as the one's I used were a bit unstable for the memory at 112fsb. I will, of course, bench superpi at the same time before and after Sandra.
