How to speed up the POST on MVP3G5@768 MB?

Post by moondog »

Hello together,

as I found lately some time to play around with my socket 7 system again I wonder how to speed up the POST as the system takes a pause of about 30+ seconds after counting up the installed memory before it continues with the boot sequence... this is quite boring as I always have to wait that long as well before I can jump into the bios.

Does anyone has a solution for this?

Thanx in advance,

Eric

Hello Eric,

I just rebooted one of my MVP3G5 systems with 512 MB RAM. After the memory quick test there´s a break of 8 - 10 seconds.

I suppose the long break in your case might occur due to bios settings rather than the 768 MB RAM.
