Re: Voodoo 2 Quake

I have a Voodoo Banshee, 3D Blaster 16MB. I never, and I say NEVER, made this card work on DOS. I am interested in DOS gaming, and I want to enhance DOS titles like Quake in primis, GTA, Blood, Screamer 2, Nascar Racing 2, Fatal Racing, Carmageddon and others with this great video card. But I alway...

Hi Jim, In its day, the 9800 was the most powerful card out there. It supports from 8-2x AGP. I have a 9600XT still in my desktop, works great. ATI's website has all the info on card specs: http://ati.amd.com/products/radeon9800/aiw9800pro/specs.html Caveat, if you're thinking of using the TV Tuner,...

Try Hitachi's website for similar software. IBM sold its Hard Drive division to them a few years back.

All the same, not sure if the P5A would recognize that large a hard drive. I think support peaked at 30-40GB. Can anyone confirm?

Cthulhu8u - Does your system automatically turn on UC/UW? If not...did you (can you) manually turn it on for your test? This will affect the LFB tests (mode $4103) only. Thanks. Uh, wow, can you please explain what that means? what am I looking for exactly, would it be BIOS or software relat...

Hi,
Do you mean some text results from the program itself? I've never used it, but when I get a chance I can try and see what I get.

I have a Voodoo 4 for now, although I have my modded Voodoo 5 sitting around. Unfortunately it doesn't fit the case very well.

Hi Sylvan, I don't run Win2k, but I have two of those motherboards. One has a dead/defective AGP slot. I was never able to figure out what was wrong with it, so I just use PCI in it. Anyway, that is a bit off topic. Just wondering, I notice you changed the video card several times, what about changi...

I dunno about linux, but I don't think you can run a V4 and V2 reliably together in Windows. Basically you have a driver conflict. Also, I don't know how a V2 looks better than a V4... a V2 is pretty blocky looking just compared to the newer vooodoo's, even the V3. I have a v2, v3, v4 and v5, and I ...

This is a weird problem, and the intermittent ones are the most annoying. I have to wonder if it isn't hardware related, like the cable at the landlord's end (although you checked it once, could it maybe have come loose again?). Are ther any powerful electrical sources near the router that might int...

Re: Video card/SS7 Compatibility

I have a number of SS7 boards and have problems with finding AGP cards to match them... Is anybody running these boards and if so what AGP card are they running. I have tried a TNT2 and a Rage128 in the TMC boards and they were nearly fried alive. So at the moment I can only run PCI cards in the TM...

Very cool pictures, Jim! That's some great work on customizing the AT's for your needs. I didn't read your post completely yet, but I waded through some of it and let the pictures do the talking ;) Something you may want to consider for SuperPuppy 4(?): If you find the sound of the fans too loud or ...

I would love to, unfortunately I wont be able to. This board has no means of adjusting core voltage or the CPU multiplier. I was too caught up in the excitement of upgrading, and now I am stuck with a board I am not happy with. Aside from having no voltage/multiplier adjustments, the tiny northbrid...
