Radeon 9700pro works great on a MVP3 if you have 300W+ power supply.
It gives a noticable performance boost over the lower Radeons.
I think this is the upper limit of what can be achieved with any video card.

Re: K6-lll+550s did you buy one?
I have had a similar experience to Pedrograd. I bought my K6 III + 550 from Computer Adjusters about this time last year via e-bay. Likewise an exchange of e-mails to iron-out the transaction.
Service was good and it arrived at my door in the UK in less than a week. I'm still using it in my machi...

Re: new HDD
Thanks for your advice George. My inclinations are towards a Western Digital. They have have just made available the 80GB WD800JB which has 8MB of cache which reviews say are the quickest drives available. There a little more expensive, but not too far out of reach.

I was tempted to risk an I...

K6 3+ 550 & Radeon??
It's a little while since I've visited k6 plus, but since raising the question I have fitted a Radeon 7500 which on the whole works very well. I haven't really had time to try it out since I've been spending more time with my girl friend, but the only problem I've had is the occasional boot to a bla...

Re: K6 3+ 550 & Radeon??
Yes, I'm quite taken about reports of their screen output and detail. So if no one shouts up with any incompatibility issues I'l probably order one. The problem is at the moment they are not particularly good value for money, especially against GForce MX's which have shown quite a drop recently. I'm...

Re: EPoX MVP3G5 memmory
Thanks very much George. I'll give that a try. I almost bought a 256Mb stick earlier in year, but I asked Epox what the board would accept and was told in no uncertain terms that 133Mb per slot was the limit. This surprised me, but it was enough for me to shy off, especially since the price was much...

K6 3+ 550 & Radeon??
