My retro machine

Post by aaronamd »

well I finaly completed my retro machine with the help of jim who supplied the motherboard and ram.

It runs freeBSD 4.11 and is functioning in my house as a beastly fast router/gateway/dhcp server/fileserver/webserver/ftp server

It does all that with a cryrix MII PR-200. and on a busy day it only uses 20% cpu !
here are some pics

I hope you like it.. :D

I like how the bare screw tips are sticking out the top. Adds a nice touch. :P

Image < nice touch! :banana

Hmmm... this freeBSD sounds interesting, I've concentrated on hardware and merely tolerated MS products  perhaps I should have a dabble in OS now, is it difficult to work with?

- Linux/Unix based?

- Oh and just what is the source of that cool blue light in your server case there?

not really, but you have to be patient and willing to learn, and I did that cause it looked neato! lol :D and because the power LED is really dim...
