Add these to the bottom of the screen (remove from the top?).

It makes sense to have them there and not at the top...since when you are done reading the current thread, one of these functions is what you want to do next.

Thanks.

mmmh, I never used these buttons before.
just tried it and I must say I probably would have no reason to use in future. because I would not know where it links me to and I will be directed to some thread that was started before or after this one. what is the benefit?

Basically they take you to the next (or previous) thread.

Situation :

You go to this sub-forum, and see that there are three new threads to read.
You click on the first...read it until the end.
You now want to go to the next new post.

To do this, you either have to scroll up to the top of the page you are on and click next/previous, or click back to the main sub-forum, and then click on the next new thread that you want to read.

This results in extra mouse movement...when the "buttons" could (and should) be right there at the end of the post. (Where do you want to go from here? :P )

Thanks.

kachiwachi,
I understand your argument about the mouse-movements.
but the problem for me would be that the buttons do not direct exactly where the new posts are (at the end of a thread) but move me to the startpage of the thread :( and that is only in rare cases where I would like to start reading ..... if these buttons would work like the links at the "latest posts" section then I would give your proposal a 10!

nohr?!
