:)

first things first.

YES, it is a PNY product. I found it following the link for "international" on PNY's main website and went on to germany here

BFG is offering an overclocked version (350 core instead of 300mhz, 410 instead of 400mhz memory clock). the pny has no fan whereas the bfg modell is fitted with active cooling. (I like it noiseless).

nvidia supports all windows os's (except 95), including nt4. I like nvidia.

the p5a features pci rev. 2.1, the cards box states that it needs a "pci slot" (no rev. # given).

today I did some more benching. I put the ga-5ax/gf 3-ti-200 system (which I erroneously reported as a p5a in my former post) under current to run the same benches there. since my dx-setup on the gf6200 system is broken I was bound to opengl so I included q3a.

on the gf3 system (ga-5ax) I ran benches with a k6-2+-600 and a k6-3+-550. I was not able (as expected) to raise the speed to 600 with the k6-3+. on the gf6200 system I repeated the dronez benches this time with the k6-3+ at 550 (to compare it directly with the scores @550mhz from the ga-system) and also ran the q3a bench.

there is a lot to learn from these results. how much of a difference does it make using a k6-2+ or a k6-3+ at the same speed? what is more important, raw cpu power (higher cpu clock) or better memory throughput (as we old boys here in this forum very well know: going from 550 to 600 eats considerably into the memory throughput, reasons so far unknown). does a graphic card with 64 bit memory bus width and 3.2gb/s bandwith, stuck into a 32 bit 33mhz pci slot with a mere 130mb/s bandwith have any chance to rival a card with 128 bit memory bus width and 8.8gb/s bandwidth, plugged into the 66mhz 32 bit agp slot with 533mb/s bandwidth?

I have some answers to these questions. they made my day :)

I hope I could make your mouths watering. For now I am closing, it is 3:35 in the morning and I need some sleep. I am going to have a hard day today so I can't promise if I'll be in the position to post the results within the next 24 hours but I will try.

sometimes the world becomes a disk.

Besides BFG/PNY/EVGA .... Leadtek has put out at least 7 different types of 6200 and that is just in AGP and PCI-e versions ....so when they may get their PCI normal version out it will be even more.

They also have mixed 64 bit versions and 128 bit units [that are better than the 64 bit types] ...so yet another factor to watch closely on the performance output or even more so which are more compatible with the various socket 7 boards and motherboard chipsets/AGP varities.

Nvidia puts out Win 98 S/E drivers good ! 8) ...I will get me one should they out perform or are just more compatible than say a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro AGP ....the price should be competative :P.

I'll save my $$$ for a 128bit version I suppose. Im just curious how many directx 9 games will work on the K6 platform given it's age. So far Titan Quest is the only one I know for sure runs but im sure there's got to be others.
