3dmark03 & PCmark02 cpu test crashes

Post by jwhickman »

I have crashing issues w/ the cpu tests of both; I presume its due to my k6-2+. Is there a way to fix this so the tests complete? I'm running 518MHz (115fsb), XPpro, dx9, radeon 8500, 256mb pc133 cl2.

I've not had any problems with CPUMark. Have you tried it without the overclocked bus?

No K6-x has completed 3DMark03 and posted results to their database, so it must be a CPU thing. Too bad.

On 3DMark 2k3, mine loads the first game and then bombs out.
That's as far as I can get.

I just did some reading up on the new 3DMark03 Benchmark. They say you need at least a 1ghz machine to even run it (PCMark2002 CPU score of over 2500). For anything slower the 3DMark 2001 SE version should be used. If your system isn't loaded with Super Fast DirectX 8 & 9 hardware there's really is no point in using it. So says Futuremark Corp. anyway.

one gig, one schmig...

well, I guess that makes sense since the pcmark02 cpu test crashes also!
I can run the games fine (well, they run; the supported ones 1-3; 2-10fps), but not the cpu test. Ah well, I'll get a nforce2 system in the next few months anyway...
Time to retire this k6-X stuff. oh, did I type that out loud...
